An anecdote: we stopped in Bennington, VT, and parked our bikes by the town office building. Mike went off to the bathroom and to fill water bottles. In the few minutes he was gone, three people came out of the building, one married the other two, and the group left before Mike returned.

Opening Day
We are pooped and comfortable in Troy, NY, staying with Mike's friend Justin. Though we originally planned to leave New Hampshire yesterday, our dilly-dallying, in addition to the rain and 1-inch hail, delayed us by a day. Today was beautiful, and we rode 94 mile through the Green Mountains of Vermont. The hills were high and steep, and the head/crosswinds were strong, but I suppose it will get us into shape quick.
